It's said that..
Extroverted people were the ones who gained the most social contacts through the Internet.
To them, it was just another channel to use to link up with friends.
Conversely, introverted people who went online tended to shy away from social contacts.

So.. Am I an introverted or extroverted people?
Or half of each?

The internet gives everyone the chance to become a mass communicator.
However, it does not mean that everyone who puts up a Web site is automatically engaging in mass communication.
The potential to be a mass communicator exists for everybody but actually becoming one is difficult.

Status Conferral
“if you really matter, the media will focus on you” and “if the media focuses on you, then you really matter”

Agenda Setting
~ Raising a list of things to be considered or acted on

* * *

Two-step flow of communication:
~ Media influences opinion leaders who then influence audiences

* * *

Media can inject messages into you, telling you what to believe and what to do.
Media influences people not by telling them what to think but rather by telling them what to think about.
Media have the ability to choose and emphasize certain topics, thereby causing the public to perceive these issues as important.
Media provide us with information - Information helpful in our everyday life and Warnings on immediate, long term or chronic threats.
Media interprets facts for us, telling us why something is important, how certain events/trends will affect us, what we should do.
Media links elements in society that are not directly connected, creating a sense of connected world.

Catharsis VS Stimulation

Viewing scenes of aggression can actually purge[rid] the viewer’s own aggressive feelings. Thus, a person who sees a violent television program or movie might end up less likely to commit violence.
V.S
Seeing scenes of violence will actually stimulate an individual to be have more violently afterward.
